Lauren Tosswill, July 25

8pm — $10

The specifics are TBD, but we’re very excited to host multidisciplinary artist Lauren Tosswill for this evening in the Light Manufacturing space.

Tosswill is an artist working with sound, site, and movement to explore improvisation and vulnerability. She uses language and voice as a means to complicate and undermine comprehension, construct absurdity, and engage in live, relational exchange with collaborators and the audience. She has been creating original sound and performance works for over a decade.

Her recorded work has been released across labels including enmossed (US), Paralaxe Editions (ES), and Hard Return (UK), with additional releases forthcoming.

Tosswill’s sound and video work has been presented at institutions including the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Institute for Contemporary Art at VCU, the University of New England, Carnegie Mellon University, and the Portland Museum of Art. She has performed at festivals for experimental music including Savage Weekend, Ende Tymes, E Cubed, Buddy Fest, New England Underground Festival, and Hassle Fest. Her work has also been presented through livestream performances for Overtoon, Sonorium, Boston Hassle, Non-Event, Experimental Sound Studio, and The Wire.

Roc Jiménez de Cisneros’ work explores both literal and metaphorical processes of deformation in music, graphics, light installations and essays.
